Two citizens were gunned down by robbers on resistance in two incidents in the Gujarpura area on Saturday.
A 45-year-old man, identified as Malik Riaz of China Scheme Haji Yaseen Park, was on his way when two armed robbers intercepted him near a marriage hall and shot at and wounded him when he tried to foil their dacoity attempt. The unidentified robbers fled on a bike. The victim was removed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was a driver in a paint factory and lived in a rented house with his wife and children.
In another incident, a 50-year-old man, identified as Ramazan of Rachna Town, Shahdara, was shot dead by robbers on resistance. The deceased was stated to be a fruit-cart vendor and sole breadwinner in his family. Police have shifted the bodies to morgue and registered cases.
FALLS TO DEATH: A 37-year-old labourer died after falling from the roof of an under-construction house in the Chuhng area on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Javed Faiz, hailing from Vehari. He had lost his balance and fell from the roof. He suffered injures and was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
TRAFFIC SECTOR: Capital City Police Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique Saturday inaugurated the building of new Mcleod Road Traffic Sector. The CCPO said the new traffic sector had been put on solar energy which would help to improve the office working.
